Worked here for several years.
Had opportunities to work on some really great brands, projects and categories. Bigger and better than much larger shops in the market.
The work environment is casual, but fast paced. Great perks including 100% 401k matches, extended holiday vacations, Friday food, and weekly fruit. I found HR to be responsive and management to be very flexible with schedules and individual needs.
People have more freedom and are offered more opportunities than some reviews will lend you to believe. JR is by no means perfect. There are very few layers to hide behind and if your plan is to sit around waiting for the next big (or better) project to be handed to you, than JR isn’t the place for you. Nor is advertising the right career. I saw younger, hungrier people, with fewer years under their belt win a jump ball or earn a promotion than any of my past agency experiences.
Management expectations for people are high, but in my experience fair. Do they expect you to contribute everyday? Yes. Are you coddled and babied? No. Some people may see as a con, I saw it as a pro.
