Even if "meritocracy" is one of the Invesys Values, the crude reality is that no one cares for it. My Year-End Performance Rating and that of a colleague of mine were EE (exceeds expectations). Our managers and our 2nd level managers were forced by Invensys to reset them down to ME (meets expectations). Besides accepting this bitter enforcement, I obviously: - Don't understand why there is no track of our former (and more realistic) rating. - Don't understand the need of flattening the "apparent" overall corporation performance (by lowering good rating and raising lower ones). - Don't understand the lack of trust in my 1st level manager's evaluation skills. - Don't understand the need for the Invensys Performance Management tool if everyone must be ranked as ME. - Don't understand how this move would aid the yet crumbling "I want to work here" target. - - - There is too much internal struggle among departments. - - - If you're searching for a career development you must migrate to the sales department. - - - You must be really alert to avoid backstabbing. Given word means very very little.
