For new hires, don't expect any "formal" training. Pay, overall, is not as "competitive" when compared to similar positions. Atmosphere in the workplace can improve. Those that notice, can see that the workforce is discouraged, tired, frustrated, and waiting for a change to happen. Having low expectations and pessimism may be ok here.
