Pros

Opportunity to obtain TS (if they like you), opportunity to make $40 hourly (but this is when they cut your hours), trainers at Peacemaker are cool and the overall training at Peacemaker was exceptional

Kontras

I have been working here for 2 years now and it’s been progressively worse. While working at their biggest contract, Department of State in Washington, DC you’re treated more like a threat than individuals who pose actual threats to the Department of State. You have a California company trying to manage a contract in Washington, DC while working from California, which has been failing and getting worse by the years. There’s a major administrative issue that’s been taken place with schedules being poorly managed, full time officers not receiving full time hours, schedules literally being changed/updated without notice while officers are working shift to go along with a bunch of other administrative issues. At this location officers are working 12 hour shifts having to beg for breaks, being promised 36 hours after 9 months but not receiving said hours, having to stand for hours in frigid and humid temperatures while wearing the cheap uniforms provided by this company. During the winter officers have to share Parka jackets and when each one is signed out officers have to wear their cheap bomber jackets in freezing temperatures. Some of the access booths don’t even have air/heat. Officers are also passing down high visibility vest from shift to shift. So when 1 officer has Covid he/she is just passing it along. Training at Eisenhower doesn’t prepare you for the actual job. This company claims that these harsh and unhealthy requirements are being made by the Department of State but that’s hard to believe. It starts with the Colonel who is extremely rude. I literally witnessed him harass an employee about their uniform while this officer wasn’t on the clock. Now QC Officer Perkins has been seen more inside of the cafeteria where I’ve witnessed him harass an employee who was on a unpaid meal break. This job is too focused on their own officers than the actual job itself. Its quite obvious that they’re losing control of this particular contract. I don’t recommend working at this particular contract until they start making the necessary changes. If you don’t believe this review just take a trip to the White House and stop past the Department of State and look at the faces of the officers working outside.

Pros

They advertise diversity. They'll hire anyone. Not necessarily a positive.

Kontras

Inter-Con is a corporate shell game, where every spoke in the wagon wheel is responsible for a different facet of the business (hiring, training, payroll, etc.) and no one seems to know what they are doing. Every single employee I have worked with has had a pay discrepancy. Several co-workers were given insufficient quantities or ill-fitting elements of their uniform, and told to buy their own, if they didn't have enough. Several employees were charged for uniforms that were suppose to be free. Inter-Con has spent months refusing to meet with our union, (because they have been running roughshod over the tentative contractual agreement in place) Inter-Con constantly hires new people, to cover shifts of full-time employees, so say goodbye to any overtime. Employees are being penalized by an arbitrary star system, which is suppose to punish unreliable employees, not tarnish the record of employees using a personal day, for personal reasons. Employees have been told that their excuse for missing work was not good enough. Every facet of what we do is organized by apps, and on cell phones. Inter-Con seems to have no sense whatsoever about the tasks and duties of an employee in the automotive industry.
