Pros
- Some great coworkers who are talented and easy to work with - Snacks / lunches - Some interesting projects - 100% paid for medical/dental insurance
Kontras
- "Holocracy" model is not actually implemented: despite all employees being on the same level, there are a select few who are the chosen ones and are ultimately given the same powers as managers would. They decide who gets hired, who gets let go, and yet are untouchable themselves. - The owners of the company are technically your managers but again, they will select who is their favorite and pay next to no attention to you if you're not. - No formal HR policies. If you have a problem, you're meant to go to the owners directly, and yet so many problems are with the owners themselves. - Many employees are severely underpaid while others are severely overpaid - No formal review processes: you're told that if you want a raise, you come to the owners when you think you deserve one. - No formal sales team and yet all employees are meant to put in more work to capture new clients or additional work from existing clients - Juniors are hired under the pretense that they'll learn and grow new skills and yet no seniors are incentivized to train them. Similarly, many employees are eventually forced into roles that they weren't hired for and looked down upon if they don't succeed in their new responsibilities. - Aside from paid-for medical/dental, benefits are outdated and minimal -Casual atmosphere can border on unprofessional
