Work flexibility, its really easy to work from home. Every manager has their own opinion on it but for the most part you can wfh when you need/want to Friendly and very knowledgeable people, work is fairly autonomous but if you need help people are willing to give you their time, within reason. Most lower level managers are good people to work for (I can only think of 1 bad one), but higher you go the worse it is Good location, free parking and natural sunlight shining thru glass roof does make it better Casual; jeans and sneakers are normal work attire Unlimited PTO: take as much time off as your approved, and they are liberal with it.

Layoffs. Just look at all the other reviews. Company has a long history of regular name changes, restructuring, and laying off employees. Most people there have either been with the company for 15 years or more or less than 4. There were 2 big layoffs alone in the past 2 years, 1 early 2018 and another one in 2020. Raises are slim. I know 1 person that got nice raises but other than that raises are rare, and when they do happen aren't usually for a lot. The company vision is to push for offshore. Their ideal is for them to be a consulting company supporting software tools that other insurance companies could train offshore developers to work in for cheap Pervasive attitude amongst the older employees to watch what everyone else is doing and gossip about work ethics. The irony that they themselves would waste such time discussing these things is completely lost to them. Basically, sit in your cube pretend to work and act like your meaningless accomplishments are bigger than they are and you'll do fine. Proprietary software: in the interview they told me I'd be doing javascript and java. I didn't. They have a proprietary IDE that is used for web app development that is vaguely OOP, but way more rigid. OR you'll work in vb6 spaghetti code that hasn't been cleaned up since it was first written in DOS. They are very far behind in technology, across most department. They are also not entirely agile, don't let them fool you on that. Working here for too long is detrimental to your career growth. To basically summarize, this company is stuck in the past, and working there is a bit like office space. Boring water cooler talk and your doing trivial work. To someone really desperate, if you get an offer and have little opportunity sure take it. Its chill and you'll collect money. Use it as an opportunity to travel, its really easy to. Nothing like getting paid when your in another country. !BUT! don't stop looking. This company is not the future and is no where near the peak. Software engineering is changing and growing, this place isn't. They will downsize, and they will focus on being as efficient as possible. An American can't compete when 70,000 rupees a month in India is a GOOD salary ($1000).
