Pros
Had the opportunity to work with friends; great camaraderie.
Kontras
Plain and simple – I highly advise NOT working here. In my honest opinion, the company is a train wreck, and the extremely high turnover rate should say enough in that aspect. The environment at Insureon impedes the ability to develop your professional career. Management will bring you on board and, at the time of your interview, will say you will be promoted quickly and proceed to continuously come up empty on their many promises. Whether it’s a title promotion or commission structure, there is not much transparency here and things hardly ever result in a favorable way. Be prepared to be overworked and underpaid (with potentially an inaccurate commissions check). I can confidently say that a majority of the leadership at this company is weak – a trend that trickles down from the top of the hierarchy. It’s concerning when a manager (and one of the company executives), Belen Tokarski, doesn’t know the job functions of all her team members or even their name (and will resort to calling you “dude” in lieu of your actual name). When someone with such a highly regarded title hides behind their computer screen and does not interact and engage with their own team members, it puts you on a fast track to failure. Management crumbles and folds under pressure and will not support you, ultimately failing to embody the “leader” part of “leadership”. You might also need to mute your phone sometimes so your clients don’t hear the CEO cussing to his hockey friends on the sales floor in the background. In summary, if you’re even remotely considering interviewing here or accepting a job offer... run, and run fast. However, if you schedule an interview with this company, I would recommend confirming the names of the individuals in the chain of command. If Tokarski’s name falls within that chain, you may want to reconsider your options. The company has a lot of potential but, unfortunately, the bad just totally outweighs the good here and I think it’s only fair to provide some insight on Insureon’s toxic culture to prospective employees.
