Pros
This is an excellent opportunity to network and learn about working as a salesperson. I learned more in two years here then I did in college. There is great opportunity for advancement within the company, and they dont waste time letting you sit around, they throw you right into everything. You meet a lot of very driven and motivated people that are looking to be successful very quickly. They are fairly honest and up front (confrontation model), and it is true that all upper management, including the president and CEO will know your name. There is a lot of support when you achieve success, and people are helpfully competitive to push you.
Kontras
Despite the knowledge that I acquired during my tenure, I would not reccomend this company to anyone. It is truly a slave-labor mentality of work over anything else. They don't like when you take vacation, nor do they like/approve of time off when feeling ill. The amount of hours invested do not truly start paying off until the 3rd or 4th year in. If you want to work investment banking hours, without the investment banking pay, this is the place. I found there to be lots of innapropriate behavior for a company that likes to tote its nationwide presence and success. I did not believe that my best interest, feelings, or health were ever taken into consideration. I felt that I was unfairly compensated for the amount of money ("spread") that I brought in. There is a huge emphasis on money because of the tremendous benefit it brings to anyone in a management position, given their stock options. I did feel that it had a slight pyramid scheme vibe. It is a good opportunity in a lot of ways, but only if you want to sacrafice all of your time, energy, and personal space. oh, and you will lose a ton of money on gas and car expenses....
