The CEO makes rash decisions and announcements without consulting anyone, causing the rest of the organization to do damage control. Most of Senior Management is VERY resistant to change and innovation. (You get a lot of "We've always done it this way." and "I think we're all comfortable with how things have been.") There is a huge disconnect between departments (e.g., Programs staff vs Administrative staff). Tensions can sometimes run high. The Board of Directors is far too involved in the day-to-day operations. Not much work/life balance. Many departments are expected to work through lunch, come in early, stay late, and work on weekends.
