Pros
InkHouse is a good place to learn the basics of PR. The company is fast paced and pretty jumbled so you learn how to work well under pressure, while dealing with all kinds of people, both kind and evil. You'll have the opportunity to learn how to manage your time with many deadlines.
Kontras
The issues many agencies face are present at InkHouse... but on a whole new level. Right away, InkHouse was not a good fit and obviously for a lot of others as well (the turnover is ridiculous). Cliques, materialistic views and opinions, competition between staff, general disregard for clients’ growth and potential as well as playing favorites are on an all new high. InkHouse feels like high school girl and sorority sister drama combined. I’d like to say there are good people who work at InkHouse, but if you're not in the "inner circle," you're a low-tier employee - no matter how much you put into the company. Senior management is more concerned about their employees’ social life outside of work, especially when it comes to discussing promotions. Overall, InkHouse’s general lack of common courtesy and professionalism is unreal. I’d also like to believe the CEO, Beth Monaghan, has good intentions for this company but she also picks favorites and likes playing the role of “Miss Popular.” She pushes her political views on her staff and while she claims she is creating a comfortable culture with a healthy work life balance, this is not the case. Let’s just say “actions speak louder than words” here. Overall, I would not recommend this agency. InkHouse is just simply not a healthy environment to work or grow. The company is constantly “just trying to get by” when it comes to client deliverables and employee welfare. Hope this helps!
