Pros

A lot of responsibility from day one. Coworkers are good and caring people, mostly in their young 20s. Dogs allowed. Sometimes we drink at our desks.

Kontras

The company’s owner/ceo/president is losing her mind, literally. I thought places like this only existed on TV, but every morning starts with yelling/cursing and screaming. I kid you not, we tried hosting an intervention, but it only made things worse... Why do we stay? Unfortunately, the majority of employees at Ink Link have never worked anywhere else - they were hired straight out of college. As a result, they believe their DAILY experiences - the constant abuse, berating and belittling - could be normal, but it’s most definitely not. It’s not a coincidence that our quickest turnovers have been people with real-work experience - In just one month, we had 4 different front desk people... Stories? Well, coworkers cry often, she’s thrown garbage at people, threats to be fired weekly, etc. etc. Before applying to Ink Link, a former employee told me this: “if you have no experience, and you’re desperate for work, you could stick it out for a year, then find something better.” In hindsight, it wasn’t worth it. You’ve been warned.

Pros

I worked two summers as an intern and really enjoyed my experience overall. The work can be challenging at times but I never felt as though I was given something I couldn't handle and I was always provided guidance. I felt as though the CEO made sure to diversify the work I was given and give me tasks where she thought I could learn and grow. Every summer I learned new aspects of marketing and gained valuable experience. The work environment overall is really nice. The company tries to have fun activities such as company outings, happy hours and sometimes even nail experts come in. I felt as though the company and CEO worked really hard to make people feel valued and the perks were super different than what I had experienced working for nonprofits and in government positions in the past. The coworkers are mainly young (mid 20s) which is a nice perk and everyone is pretty friendly. Plus dogs sometimes come in!

Kontras

The only main con was there wasn't a full-time opening when I graduated but overall a great company.
