Pros

Its a good learning curve for new college graduates. I think the environment is so accepting of people who would normally never be given an opportunity to work in IT a chance ( I am only referring to the US hiring program, and I know the Indian hiring process is a lot more demanding) . Now, to say thats a great thing for the client to have a lot of inexperience onsite people.. meh, whatever, it gave me a good job to learn a lot of job skills for the first 2 years. However, if you planning to focus on something that will interest you in that area.. time to move on.

Kontras

I felt really isolated in the company; that was my biggest complaint. I think the big reason was the nature of my project and being an american hire. So, instead of feeling part of something bigger, my world was my cube and I didn't even see other infosys people most of the time! Maybe once in awhile when my manger tells me to take irrelevant certifications, turn in my time sheet and join a weekly team call to hear other infosys talk about thier work that was completely not related to mine.

Good learning opportunities – Access to internal learning platforms, certifications, and training programs (especially for freshers). Global exposure – Opportunities to work with international clients and global delivery teams. Structured processes – Well-defined policies, documentation, and governance. Work-life balance (project dependent) – Many teams offer reasonable working hours. Employee benefits – Health insurance, paid leaves, and wellness initiatives. Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Kontras

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
