Pros

Top medical care in the country / world so if you are working closely with the physicians/nursing then the job is better.

Kontras

High turnover rate, always training and understaffed. If you are soley doing the patient services responsibilities such as phones, scheduling, front desk check in, it is chaotic and there is a gap in communication between the admin staff and the medical staff but once the barrier is breached the environment is better to work together

Pros

The people I work with are amazing. You do get free IVF cycles once you've been there a year.

Kontras

The pay is very low (especially considering we live in CA) and they don't like to give raises. Cost of living raise was 2% last year. Patient retention is paramount and comes first before anything. Patients who are nasty, who verbally abuse the staff, they always get what they want (discounts, free cycles, requirements waived, etc). They don't want to risk any bad reviews. We are also working with very little staff and it's very hard to convince the higher ups in NJ that we need help. They are all about the "numbers" and they want us to suffer and get patient retention higher before they will approve more staff. Mistakes are blamed on you and you not being efficient and not on the fact that we need more staff. It's obvious to patients now how bad staffing is. Training was almost nonexistent, and turnover is common (at least with nursing). Oh, and there is no company maternity leave! You get what your state gives you. Pretty sad for a company that is helping people have children.
