First and foremost, the company has had meetings to “encourage” employees to go on Glassdoor and write positive reviews. The owner/founder of the company consistently takes note of which employees attend out of work events such as community day, social events (Drinks), cookouts, etc. Many people tend to go to the after work events in fear of backlash from the company, this is the truth whether they like it or not. At times, the owner has reached out to employees to ask why they did not attend certain events. I found this to be inappropriate, strong-armed, and it tends to create a culture of fear. If you do not attend the events, you are frowned upon. The sales model for the company is defunct; the company tends to sell its software platform to private equity firms who mandate their portfolio companies to use the software. This creates sour relationships with clients at times who really do not have any inclination, desire, or use for the software platform, which can affect your life at the company. The platform, for lack of better terms, is being shoved down client’s throats The other posts about management, commute times, benefits, culture, and lack of training, are at times true. Management is hypocritical. It is expected you will work 8-6pm every day although at times, mid-level an upper management constantly come late and leave early (2pm) for drinks, sporting events, etc. This is uninspiring, demotivating, and poor leadership whether they fail to recognize it or not. There are times when the entire building is left with analyst and associates while managers/directors are out at entertainment events. Benefits are below industry average in all terms, vacation, health premiums, 401k. The bonus system is convoluted to say the least, and pits coworkers against each other rather than encouraging teamwork; one of the companies “core values”. Commute times are longer than expected unless you live on the immediate east side of Cleveland. Turnover is high. Because the company does not provide a long term training program (more than 4 months) new hires are expected to learn the business model an perform the job immediately. This expectation is fair for a industry job, not for a job in consulting. Depending on whom you work for, flexibility can vary. During the interview process they communicate working from home occasionally (less than 3 times a month) is acceptable. But in reality when you ask to work from they give you a very difficult time. There is no excuse for this behavior at all; it doesn’t cost them anything Overall, if you prefer a environment where coworkers are constantly at each other's throats, gossip, and actively plot against other divisions in their own company this is the place for you.
