Pros

Positive atmosphere. Caring staff & management. Professional offices. Independence. Neat location.

Kontras

These are not necessarily "CONS", but more for a certain personality description. It's very much a start from scratch, kill or starve type atmosphere. There is no starting salary for you, but you have opportunities to hit bonuses. It can be difficult for a new FA to learn the business because a lot of the ones you can learn from the most are busy taking care of their own clients (again, this isn't a bad thing). You really need to find a way to market yourself and find prospective clients (cold calling, seminars, etc). You also need to be extremely disciplined, but success can be found there. At the bottom it asks if I'd recommend to a friend, it really just depends on the person.

Pros

I gained valuable exposure to real-world financial planning and client interaction during my time at IMG Financial Group. The advisors were very supportive and always willing to teach or explain concepts in detail. The work environment felt professional yet approachable, which made it easy to ask questions and learn. I also appreciated the opportunity to use actual financial software and tools that professionals rely on in the field. Overall, it was a great place to build a foundation in finance and understand how client relationships work.

Kontras

The training structure could be a bit unorganized at times, which made it hard to know exactly what to focus on. Some of the daily tasks were repetitive or administrative, which didn’t always feel directly related to financial analysis. There weren’t many long-term opportunities for interns after the program ended. The compensation was minimal, and in some cases unpaid, which might be challenging for some students. Communication between departments could also be improved to make workflows smoother.
