?....a steady paycheck? It seems as if employees like to work for Humana, because they stay there for a long time. However I think those are the employees that are just there to collect a paycheck.

Management doesn't allow for growth. I think it may be in part because of job insecurity. In addition employees beneath the management level are not given bonuses based on performance and cost savings. Only management reeps the benefits of bonuses. I think that sends a message to employees that their efforts are not as valued as management.
