Pros

The kids are the best part of the job. Making an impact in these kids lives makes everything else tolerable. Pay is above average for early RBT's. Staff is fun and friendly, most people are friends and hang out with each other outside of the clinic. Company pays for Relias RBT training and certification. Great if you need to become an RBT and don't plan to stay at the company for long. Opportunities for growth if you do everything management says without complaints.

Kontras

Where to begin... when you are first hired it seems to be a well functioning company, however after being there for just 30 days you will see it is far from Fortune500. There is extremely high turnover and minimal to no staff appreciation from management. This is evident in the staff area which haas minimal seating of two old couches one of which is tattered and looks older than the company. Management seems to be behind the times with paper data collection only and graphing all done by hand. The owner is the only BCBA for two locations, there is NO ONSITE BCBA ever and the Owner of the company rarely interacts with staff or anyone besides management on the rare occasions she is there. The owner allows personal friendships with the clinic supervisors to cloud good judgement and has put blind faith in her that will end up ruining the business. Management running the clinic do not really know what they are doing nor how to effectively manage employees. They consistently prove their unprofessional-ism by gossiping about staff, current and former, and take everything personally, upper management is rarely available on the floor for staff questions or help with clients, spending most of the workday in the office, leaving at any time of the day for coffee breaks without ever telling the staff, early lunches, eyelash appointments, and general "emergencies" to pick up her kid from school. Staff has to purchase their own sensory toys for clients, as many toys are broken or no longer work after being donated by management from their own children. There is no structure in this place and management does not seem to care about making positive changes. Know what you're getting yourself into before making a commitment here! If you are truly interested in learning foundational knowledge of ABA, this place is NOT for you.

Dear former employee, Thank you so much for your feedback. As always, we appreciate it. First of all thank you for acknowledging that there are some pros for working at HHS especially the fact that professional growth is available for those who follow company policy. I do want to take some time to address some of your cons. First of all, you are correct - HHS is not a Fortune 500 company. It was never intended to be one and it will never become one. Also, you are correct about me not being present lately. I’m sorry if my taking a medical leave of absence to get treatment for cancer interfered with your ability to do you your job. I can guarantee you that it affected my life more than yours. But, for what it’s worth I’m sorry for not being there to give you a pat on the back and tell you that you are doing a good job doing a job that you are paid to do (and by your own accounts, being paid very well). However, please do not confuse my inability to be physically present with my ability to effectively monitor and further clients’ progress. I can assure you that I was answering clinical questions and writing treatment plans 2 days post massive surgery. I made sure all HHS clients continued to make gains in their programs. You are also correct about me being the only BCBA for a while but that is usually what happens when BCBAs give 3 days notices when they leave. But, I’d rather work 60 -80 hours/week than dismiss clients with no notice and nowhere to go or lay staff off. As far as your suggestion to hire BCBAs from outside, with all due respect, that is not your call. Based on this review and similar ones on this site it’s is very obvious that waiting for the right person (loyal, able to speak their mind in person as opposed to on social media platforms) was so worth it! But I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that this situation has been rectified. Jess is doing a wonderful job as the lead BCBA at the Windcom office and more BCBAs will join our team at the other locations in the very near future. As far as any of our staff members getting eye lash extensions and lunches (even extended ones) I’m sure you are aware that no company has any saying (and we shouldn’t!) in the way employees use their time off. Regarding personal emergencies, we treat everyone with compassion and respect and allow unplanned time off for specific situations. I’m more than sure you used this benefit at some point during your employment with HHS. And yes, I like paper and pen data collection because it gives me more clinical information. However, you were not part of our company when we did try the electronic data collection and it did not work for us. So yeah, when I comes to this I gladly prefer not to join you in the 21st century. Anyways, thank you for being part of HHS. We value all our staff and their efforts to improve the lives of our clients. Also thank you for giving me the opportunity to address your concerns although it would have been more productive to do so in a face to face meeting instead of this public platform.

Pros

Free snacks 1x month. Two break rooms.

Kontras

Management encourages employees to work off the clock, which is illegal. Center does not repair damage in a timely manner. Lots of random holes and bad repair jobs. Management (admin and clinical) are catty and immature. Constantly bad mouthing coworkers and techs.

Hi, If you had been a real employee of HHS, you would have known that we have a policy against working off the clock, and anyone who does is met with immediate consequences. As for the damages, again, if you truly worked for us, you would know that they happen due to the nature of the job and are swiftly addressed. We are glad that whoever worked for us enjoyed the free snacks.
