In all my years in the healthcare space, HealthEC’s technology was the best healthcare analytics and care management solution that I saw that actually performed as advertised, is user friendly and led to desired outcomes. It provided a complete care management solution from analytics to understand the covered population, identification of the healthcare and quality issues that needed to be addressed and a care management solution that facilitated addressing those issues. Another positive was the staff that I worked with on a regular basis. This was an exceptional group of people who were committed to excellence in their work, working together collaboratively and meeting the needs of customers and clients. Sadly, a lot of those people are no longer with the company.

For a company that truly has exceptional game changing technology, this company is crippled by major dysfunction within its top leadership. This is driven primarily by the CEO and the Primary Technical Lead. Because of this dysfunction, servicing of existing clients was all too often compromised. It also created a challenging and toxic work environment for employees. This was not true of all senior management but it seemed that the good leaders could not overcome the challenges posed by top management. This resulted in lost business, staff turnover and challenged morale within the workforce. It was truly disheartening to know the impact that the technology could have for a client and see clients become discouraged and leave because Senior Management didn’t deliver the services promised and contracted. Unless there is a change at the CEO level, I would not pursue an opportunity with the company.

A few good people that wanted to do their best to fix root cause issues.

Where to start? CEO started in Sept 23', by early 24' replace the senior management team, by Sept 24' all but one remained. Former co-founder ran a shadow organization and carried out their own agenda. Tenured folks just either did what they were told (out of fear), or misinformed on what they were doing, in some cases the opposite of what they told you. CEO's strategy was not based in reality, he did not recognize that he did have the talent or capabilities to carry any sort of strategy. Technology stack is old and fragile, and there were single individuals responsible for key functions. SME's weren't. Customers told what they wanted to hear most of the time, and certain individuals would be surprised that it could not be done. Investors are likely throwing gasoline on a fire thinking it will burn itself out.
