Interesting work, got to create new projects from scratch and not just maintaining old ones. Compensation is around the average, but expect it to stay the same for your entire career. Frequent company nights out, can get to know colleagues in and out of the office. Occasionally travel out to customers and seeing your products as they are/will be used.

Salary will stay the same since it is a risk for such a small company. Sometimes long hours because of juggling a lot of projects between a few of us and tight deadlines. Few very experienced staff because of almost static salaries. Small company environment wasn't for me, but this is a personal preference.

- Endless opportunities to learn - Understanding & friendly staff - Both Electrical & Mechanical fields have extremely knowledgeable managers - Free tea, coffee and biscuits - Incredible software engineers - Becoming more and more self-sufficient with producing products in-house

- Praise / recognition is rather quiet, it's mostly passed on to the higher up(s) rather than given straight to you. I feel it'd be more beneficial for praise to be given directly to those deserving of it. - The workload can be extremely heavy at times, and rather smooth at other times. There doesn't seem to be a mid-line, but that's just the line of work HGL thrives on.
