Pros

Nothing good can came from this place

Kontras

HCLTech was by far the worst company I worked in my career, I joined the company after being reached several times by the recruiter (and a lot of promises), with the promise to work on a solid, consistent and advanced project for a big client, with higher salary and into a fully remote and independent position. Firstly, the joining process from the Brazilian HR was really a mess, nobody have any information, and keep you without any contact until 48 hours before you will start with them. After that, they send you an email requesting a lot of information and actions from your side, to be sent in 24 hours saying that without this information you'll not be able to join the company. They kept you one full month working without the health care (benefit pointed as guaranteed on the job offer) simply because HR does not want to send the request for the insurance company or to save one month of resources from their end. An HR employee was responsible for solving an issue with my time management application and just said that she was not going to let me know when the application was fixed, that I will need to keep asking from time to time until she have it updated, because she was simple going to forget anyway. Only after the first day they start to send the laptop, so you stay the first week of your new job without anything to do, just reading some documents and waiting for the laptop to arrive. Once you have the laptop and think that the work will finally start, then you have to wait for 2 more weeks to be introduced into the client's environment, so you keep just reading what they sent you previously. Finally, when you are ready to start the training into the new project, you find out that there's no training, you'll have to read a few articles and learn how to work by yourself, nobody knows anything, nobody is wiling to give you training or at least explain what process you should follow. The whole team works on survive mode, trying to reach absurds goals and without any training, receiving markdowns from a quality team that seems to have every details about how to work but can't share it with you (you are at your own). The day-to-day work is a mess too, you can't be owner of cases, you have to work on each request blindly and then once you start it and can't be the owner of a case, you can suddenly find out that someone else was already working on the same issue, without any warning you see that you just loosed a lot of precious time thinking about the unreachable daily goal. Although it is a remote job, the management force you to stay the whole shift connected into a zoom call listening the other team members talking in Indian saying that this is how you can get help if needed, so it is not a remote job, it is a simulation of an authentic Indian office. Nobody knows how to even answer a slack message without the need to make a call to "discuss", and even though you were hired to work mostly with English (also using Portuguese and Spanish in my case) and the team being a "global" team, they will be talking in Indian the whole day, so be ready to be able to work on cases in English, Spanish and Portuguese while you hear someone chatting in Indian as a background sound. Now if the lack of training, the (real) bad HR employees, and the mess from the daily tasks are not enough to make you want to quit yet, the management are even worst. The leads and higher management employees keep pushing the employees with the highest pressure someone can handle, having weekly meetings to expose the worst workers, showing the numbers in front of the whole team, questioning why they made mistakes on a totally aggressive way, without any respect for the employee and only making them being on the "shameful" spot inside the team, threaten the employee with "HR talks" and demission in front of the whole team, screaming and talking over the employee. Even before joining the company I was really regretted as the way HR was dealing with the onboarding process, but them once I started having contact with the project team (management, lack of training and confused tasks/documentations) I regretted myself for accepting being into this place and considered everyday to resign my job and just be unemployed. They say you can try reaching for the Ethical team to report a moral abuse from the management and a toxic work environment, but don't be fooled by what they say, you'll be out of the company even before they open your email because you will not be able to keep it as long as it takes to them to care about what you are saying. You can also try talking with the management to give them the chance to provide a not so horrible working environment, but they will simply say to you that the rest of them are working this way and you have to accept it as it is, stop complaining and keep working. Others from inside the team already confirmed that a lot of employees had and are having mental health issues, but that the management will not change anything. This company provided me the worst work experience in my life costing me a lot of mental energy, my health and my time, and I worked in there for less than 6 months. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy and I hope to never even hear about this place in my life!

Pros

Data Center Exposure Free lunch in cafeteria at Mesa location Can have a lot of downtime Not aggressively tracking you on everything Job is not difficult

Kontras

no free lunch for other locations in valley Pay could be better Only contracted to work with the data center company, HCLTech could potentially lose the contract not directly employed by data center company. No benefits if working through an agency, only paid holidays if direct HCL. Management is a bit scattered.
