The leadership at this company lacks transparency and exhibits significant disorganization. It is a team of individuals who came together during their dissertation work, with little to no industry experience, which is evident in their approach. The company is plagued by internal political conflicts and hasty decision-making, often without proper communication, resulting in disjointed and confusing situations. The quality of the product is subpar, and as a result, many clients have expressed frustration with the collaboration process. Despite this, government contracts compel collaboration, which means that other parties often end up compensating for Hattec's shortcomings. There is a clear disregard for established quality standards and internal processes. However, when issues arise due to this lack of structure, blame is placed on developers who struggle to meet shifting and inconsistent requirements within tight deadlines. Even employees who initially joined with optimism have now become disengaged and resigned, worn down by the unrelenting chaos that never seems to improve. The persistent disorganization and lack of change have led to a growing sense of frustration among the team, diminishing morale across the board. Amidst a lack of qualified applicants and increasing employee turnover, the leadership has resorted to hiring interns and importing developers from Spain in an attempt to fill the gaps. However, these short-term solutions do little to address the underlying issues, leaving the company in a constant state of flux. Furthermore, anyone who attempts to address or improve the situation within the company is quickly sidelined and branded as a disturbance. This discourages any constructive feedback or efforts for positive change, further entrenching the dysfunction.
