Gulfstream is the only employer in the area for skilled aerospace workers, as is evidenced in the horrible way they treat employees. I've never been more micromanaged, and treated so badly in my career. Gulfstream says they want to improve the skill level of their employees, but we are not rewarded for showing initiative, quite the opposite. The locals love "getting on at Gulfstream", but good luck retaining top aerospace talent from other areas of the country. Gulfstream has a serious culture issue that will only be changed by making some changes in senior leadership. The old timers are never going to embrace the efficiencies that could be gained by utilizing technologies that have come about in this century because it threatens their empires.
