Pros
In my time at Guidecraft, the work has been challenging, but also rewarding and diverse. There are always a number of projects to work on at any given time throughout the year so things are never boring or stagnant. We also have an international team of talented and hard-working people as support on many efforts (design, marketing, ops, etc.). I like that the culture is focused on design process, maintaining high quality standards, and improving the lives and education of young children, all with a focus on how to infuse nature and the arts into our work and work spaces. My co-workers and staff, in NY and abroad, are all wonderful people that I genuinely enjoy working with.
Kontras
Work/Life balance could be better as there feels like a constant pressure to ensure all projects are attended to (even outside of the Monday-Friday 9-5 work schedule). Health benefits could be improved (no dental), but are better than nothing. Projects can frequently change priorities, so ensuring a smooth workflow process can be challenging at times.
