Pros

everyone was nice except the manager

Kontras

There were three managers who were not in communication, so there wasn't consistent information for us. There were also not in contact with me while I went to the hospital and I reached out multiple times on what I thought was my deathbed. After contacting them four times, I finally found a supervisor's number. they accused me of never contacting my manager and that they considered me a no-show and submitted my paper to HR to be fired and that there is nothing they can do at this point. then literally 10 minutes later they said if I come down to work today and plead my case then they can consider giving me my position back. really?!?. To0 many mind games and lack of compassion for $9 h/r. Whoever does the schedule is also an idiot, whenever I come in, I was the only cashier at times and still expected to do my racks and go backs. When I complained, they lied and said no one who do the register is available on those days or at those times yet multiple people tells me they beg to be on the schedule during that time but management refuses. U overworked me into the hospital and then "fired" me? Good luck to the suckah that replaced me.

Pros

I enjoyed my customer service work - helping people as a part of a larger mission to help the community. I found it rewarding to advance to supervisor and pick up new skills and responsibilities such as safety auditing and supply management. And of course it was always interesting to sort all the interesting and unique donated goods.

Kontras

A change in management over the past year+ has been very difficult for me. I found my work more heavily scrutinized and criticized in ways that felt unclear and unfair. The new manager had a clear bias towards certain employees, gossiped openly and loudly and often with explicit HIPAA violations, and made it literally impossible for me to keep track of inventory supplies as a part of my responsibilities. Communication between management and associates - and even between management and supervisors is very poor. Workplace culture has seemed to shift from being very flexible and people-oriented to more stringent on policy and focused on revenue. Trust in upper management is strained. Day to day if you stick to your task and focus on production, you'll probably do well. But for me it isn't what it used to be.
