Honestly not much. It was nice when you got to sell a special piece to a lovely customer but this is where it ended.

I was at the Leeds branch for 8 months before I had to leave due to the following. During my time here we had a change over in management with very confusing support between the change. When I asked questions I got contradicting answers about protocols which led me to not doing my job correctly which I later got in trouble for without realising I was doing anything wrong. The environment was toxic and everyone was gossiping. The shop manager had told the higher ups straight up that she believed any shops failures were due to the staff and obviously not just poor management. Turnover was high as everyone was unhappy. Commission makes it feel a bit toxic too but overall wasn’t too bad. Computer processes were confusing and old fashioned. They never matched up with each other and finding a person who actually knew what everything was without working in the company for over 4 years was hard. They are very demanding and you’ll have to do hours of training in your own time because they don’t put time aside for you at work. Without doing it you can’t pass your probation. It was a horrible job with a lot of stress and very little pay for the job amount of pressure. One day I was stressed and my manager told me not to be stressed as it was stressing her out without asking at all if I needed any support. Narsassict energy from her that I received on several occasions. On going I was open that I was overwhelmed and stressed and nobody ever offered any support. Just told me to pass jobs on to others who were equally stressed. You could only use staff discount after 6 months and even then it was very slim. Pay is also only just above minimum wage for this job and every administrator I met in other shops was also being overworked so this is not a fair wage for this role.
