Pros

- fair salary - nice colleagues, although almost everyone ended up losing motivation due to no meritocracy and opaque practices

Kontras

Gofundme used to be a fairly meritocratic workplace with a great culture (even if with huge workloads). Unfortunately this is long over. There’s absolutely zero transparency on anything from promotions, salary discrepancies between the same position, to hiring decisions. It all boils down to being personal friends with upper management. This is a shared feeling within the whole RCPI and has completely killed any motivation, as extremely limited chances for advancement or lateral moves are left. Dublin is clearly seen as a satellite office. The communication and transparency with US is often lacking, leaving the Dub side pretty much out of the most interesting projects or developments (often they don’t even know these are going on until they’re announced). The benefits/perks keep being reduced and some have been limited to the point of seeming almost pointless. There’s been zero job security for a couple years now, with people in constant fear of being laid off. The company keeps running lean, with very understaffed departments which are expected to manage huge workloads with unrealistic expectations. So you’ll probably end up burnout, but even without career advancement. Sounds great, right?

Pros

Great culture and super welcoming, awesome mission and leadership/talent to guide young professionals

Kontras

Not a lot of presence in person, but understandable due to the great hybrid policy

Pros

Pay is good and product is for Social Good

Kontras

There is little hope that our stock options will have value soon. Leadership often prioritized alignment over independent judgment, and despite major hires and restructuring, the company has struggled to deliver products with meaningful impact or market traction. Feedback largely flowed top-down, with dissent poorly received and limited room to challenge decisions. While some leaders projected openness, there was often a noticeable gap between image and reality, with culture seeming more focused on hierarchy and appearances than execution and results.
