Interesting and challenging assignments, lots of responsibility if you seek it out.

The owner (and chief salesperson) will provide impossible promises to customers about the schedule. Computers will be sold with unrealistic deadlines, and then the engineers are supposed to do everything they can to meet that schedule... including cutting corners on validating the design, not doing proper design reviews, etc. Then, when the computers are inoperative or partially operative because of a rushed, improper design, the owner will go on a rampage and cuss out the entirety of the engineering department in a company wide meeting. Other examples of the rushed schedule and deadlines that I have personally witnessed are shipping empty shells of computer systems to government agencies and/or contractors so that the agency can mark it as "received" by the end of the fiscal year. Then, once that is done, the agency will RMA it to GMS to be replaced with an actual computer system once it is finished... 1-3 months later.
