Pros

Great Medical Benefits and colleagues

Kontras

The director plays favourites with at least 4 of my coworkers. Two of them have barely been here 2 years compared to my colleagues who have been around for more than that. When asked for more responsibilities, every time something does come up and interest is expressed, it gets given to one of the favored people and when inquired about why the other person was given the responsibilities you get told that because of your current scope there’s no way I’d be able to fit anything else in. We have lost good colleagues who just just plain quit because of this. No work life balance. Staying late equates to 'You care about work' here in Singapore.

Pros

I was formerly a student, went on to be a TA and eventually became an instructional associate. I felt incredibly supported, lots of communication and lots of trying to help me reach my goals. Such a fun job with lots of growth

Kontras

Leaving due to a restructure of education/going more into video learning, bigger classes and less instructor to student learning

Pros

General Assembly is a great place to work where you can be proud of the work and impact you have on the org and clients. If you get out of your workaholic mode, you can take advantage of the flexible PTO and the culture of understanding where you are expected to put forth 100% but also take time for yourself and your family. No one abuses that and there is trust in folks getting their work done and supporting one another.

Kontras

If you are ok with staying in one role for a long time, this is your spot. I think that due to the pandemic and the economy, there is limited mobility. However, you can try to work or use skills on other teams to diversify your professional portfolio if possible. But raises and bonuses fall short.
