Pros
- Overall good salary increases, benefits packages and rewards for people who are clearly contributing to the business. - Recognition for team players and people who are genuinely there to learn and grow. - Good relationship with managers (IF you get a good one). 'Lower level' management are down to earth and will genuinely look after you, upper levels don't know who you are and rely on your managers ability to 'make your case' when applying for raises and funding for additional learning which is why you need to have a good line manager to succeeded here.- - predominantly great group of colleagues , diverse and overall quite fun people - Canteen (although expensive) is really nice, good quality and some good options. - The building is tired but functional with its best feature being the atrium.
Kontras
- A hard run of changes within the business including multiple redundancies with more scheduled to take place in the upcoming weeks have left employees anxious. - Terrible office layout, the open plan makes it impossible to hear people on calls (which 90% of the business still runs on) when they are in the office, as a minimum people should have barriers around the desks. - There is little to no accountability or assistance provided when trying to complete simple tasks such as invoice processing through accounts or requesting HR assistance. You will be lost in a shared inbox. - you are 'presumed to know' despite receiving no training or assistance with particular tasks. - The business is full of non contributors that either do the bare minimum or pass along their workload and tasks to others. This is the same across all levels of the business from admins to managers - To cut costs things like free fruit and drinking squash have been removed instead of upper management really looking at figures, non contributing employees and false expenses etc. - Good members of staff are relied upon too heavily, with the 'of course I will help' efforts often being abused. I have seen teams where only 1 or 2 people are contributing and, although favoured and trusted by managers, they are not being paid for the 2-3 peoples worth of worth they are being relied upon to deliver. - "I know this is not your role, but I trust your abilities and know you will get this done the best out of everyone" is NOT a compliment. - Management know who is doing nothing, but don't seem to have the ability to do anything about it.
