Quantity over quality, & depends on the team you land in - Paralegal bei Fragomen: Mitarbeiterbewertung

Pros

Some of the people are nice to work with, though it depends on your team. They do have a fridge full of cold drinks, and once a year they pretend to care and let us volunteer at local organizations. Periodically there is pro bono work, but that's mostly for the attorneys (who are required to fulfill a certain number of pro bono hours a year) because pro bono work cuts into your weekly billing requirements.

Kontras

Fragomen consistently undervalues qualitative factors and it's all about quantity and billing over quality. I can't stress that enough - Fragomen is about quantity and not quality. You will have billing minimums. There is also zero sense of community, partially because the company doesn't care about that, and partially because they hire a lot of contract people, so their is a lot of turnover. But really, it's mostly because everyone around you is overworked and tired.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Kontras

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
