Terrible experience. Management is a shambles, they have no actual training or awareness on how to lead staff properly. They hire people with no hotel experience so they can pay minimum wage and bark orders. Very little training provided and there’s no actual support from management. Wages are lowest level in the city for a front desk agent. Hours are extremely unreliable. No week was the same, so impossible to make plans in advance. HR and senior management provide no support either. Was an extremely dysfunctional place to work. If you dont make best friends with the managers you have no hope. I would feel ill everyday going to work. There’s no room to grow and honestly this is a far cry from a quality/well-run hospitality environment.

Pros

Amazing team, great location. Loved all 8 years I spent working here.

Kontras

They could pay the managers a better salary for the location the hotel is in, NYC is too expensive.

-uses HMS -Seated front desk -complimentary employee meals -great work environment -supportive staff -Wonderful brand and culture -very convenient area

Kontras

-Not unionized for the front desk -Terrible pay considering the cost of living -Not secure during the overnight hours, company refused to get security
