A con that I had was some of the locations were not in great areas.

The role provides exposure to many areas of retail banking and helps develop customer service and problem-solving skills. Most coworkers are supportive and work well together.

Universal Bankers are expected to wear many hats, from handling transactions and resolving customer issues to meeting sales goals and completing operational tasks. The workload can become overwhelming, especially during busy periods or when branches are short-staffed. Training is often not sufficient for the number of responsibilities assigned, leaving employees to learn through experience. Expectations are high, but recognition and compensation do not always reflect the effort required to perform the role effectively. Management frequently focuses on sales metrics, which can make employees feel pressured rather than supported. Work-life balance can also be challenging when staffing shortages require employees to take on additional duties.
