Pros
- Nice team -accommodating during covid-19
Kontras
I would describe my time at finning at a slightly below bearable experience. My team was really nice but I felt like a diversity hire. From when I was hired to when I left the company, I had only seen two people that look like me. I had moments where I felt scapegoated and for the sake of not losing customers, individuals would not defend me when insulted. I think my job description was also fluffed up to be a lot more than what it was in reality. The health benefits were great and easily accessible but my biggest complaint at my time with Finning was the pay. When I was going through the month long interview process, the salary I was told by the recruiter was $55,000 and when it came time to the offer, I was given $46,000 and it was justified by saying they looked at my qualifications and experience so that was enough to pay me a lower wage. I’ve never heard of anyone being offered anything less than what they were originally told and it’s very ironic coming from a company that prides itself on “competitive wages” . It was surreal working full time at a company that I still had to live paycheck to paycheck in a city that is relatively affordable.
