Pros
The pay is quite good compared to other companies. If you are a package handler at UPS (which I was) the starting pay is at least $3 an hour lower. My current management team is simply a dream. I have had managers who didn't perform well, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they were brand new and still needed time to learn the job. My manager has a complete open door policy, is very respectful, and will help when ever needed. Maybe I am lucky, but there isn't a manager in my station that I wouldn't work under. My manager is even taking time out of his day to help me with ASPIRE to management training, and he said he could continue to do so until the process is finished. Vacation time is quite good as well. I've never had a problem getting time off for any reason. I was even given three days off with only one hour notice!!
Kontras
Working in the elements is difficult. It can be quite hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but at least we get free coffee and Gatorade. Working late in to the evening is some what of a bummer, but those were hours I knew I would be working when I started at the company so I can't really complain.
