Pros
The base salary is competitive. The annual bonuses are great - in fact, management recently released a new bonus program that allows employees to look ahead at a yearly bonus target, which is super motivating. The flexibility is fantastic (2 WFH days per week / half-day Fridays - core hours 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM). FDG pays for health insurance/vision/dental (do you realize how few companies have this benefit these days?) The opportunities available to learn and grow are outstanding. You get to travel a lot for installs and site visits. Members of the design team can expect to be working on ~10+ projects (at a time!) located all over the country. I've worked at FDG for over 3 years, and not one day looks the same. You can expect to stay energized by the constant activity, tasks, deadlines, and exciting opportunities to work on diverse projects for top-notch clients. The Faulkner team feels like a big family and you get to know your coworkers and executive team on a personal level. To all of the young designers who may be considering a job here, go for it. You will not regret the decision! You can grow so much and at a pace that can't be matched. Some of the other big firms in Dallas tend to pigeon-hole young designers into CAD monkeys but I can assure you this will not happen at FDG. Young designers are given the opportunity to become lead designers within the matter of months!
Kontras
It's an intense job, but that shouldn't scare the right target employees away. Faulkner hires talented, motivated, and positive people who are willing to do what it takes to get the job done with excellence.
