This company is run by people who have zero idea how to run a business, and their response to not knowing what they are doing is simple: reduce headcount. Here is a quick breakdown of a series of decisions that really encapsulates their level of management and business sense: 1. This company had an office in Chicago and Elk Grove, roughly 30 miles apart. Not exactly a red flag, but still odd. 2. In October 2019, they hire a class of 10 people, 9 for Chicago, 1 for Elk Grove. January 2020, they hire a class of 4 to work in Elk Grove. This isn't a bad thing, but it is common knowledge that the logistics industry slows down during election years and in the spring, so the timing for these hires is questionable. 3. In February/early March 2020, they decide to close the Chicago office (after resigning the annual lease in December 2019), laying off several employees (with severance and insurance), the remaining are offered severance or continued employment in Elk Grove, which they must decide within 24 hours if they want to relocate. The reason given is encouraging "synergy" which is a thinly veiled "we can't afford Chicago" 4. In mid-March 2020, the majority of the remaining Chicago employees who relocated to Elk Grove are fired WITHOUT insurance or severance. During a pandemic, I might add. Brilliant. Last thing I will add - I witnessed management encouraging new employees to post 5-star reviews within 2 weeks of employment. Can't say some aren't genuine, but be wary.
