The CEO is a complete disaster. The culture is established such that in order to succeed you MUST drink the cool aid and do as you are told, no questions asked. I can't count the number of times I heard, "If you don't like it, you can leave". There is no transparency or autonomy in your role, despite the CEO's feeble attempts at convincing one otherwise, both internally and externally. It's like trying to work on a playground: kids running around with no direction, trying to best one another. Lots of backstabbing, including by the CEO himself. Total lack of trust for anyone, and there is definitely zero confidentiality practiced by the Chief People Officer. I learned the hard way that something said "in confidence" to the CPO almost immediately went straight back to the CEO. It was almost comical how predictable and instantaneous it was. It's just a sad example of what happens to a company when there is extremely immature CEO leadership, defined by hyper distrust of everyone, complete and utter arrogance, disrespect for employee voice, and "leading by fear". The CEO is the definition of hypocrite. Almost everything he posts publicly is actually the exact opposite of how he behaves. I have often wondered if he is delusional, or if that's simply his MO.
