First of all I empathise with you and feel sorry the way you felt. Moreover, I appreciate your candidness. I believe we live in a world where we make choices, any individual has their own decision for a career choice. When you join a fast growing startup especially a product one the whole organisation is punching above their weights, late hours are not a function of management vs workers but we collectively trying to solve difficult problems as a team & getting to the next milestone. This takes time, burning the midnight oil & upgrading your skills while you push the company forward. You yourself have mentioned that you learnt a lot. We do not complaint do we when we prepare 12+ hours 365 days for an entrance or boards do we :) Its the zeal or intellectual rush to get to the next growth milestone that separates the boys from the men. I agree with you that its not meant for everyone & I am sure you must have found "relaxed work environment" & "safer pastures".
Saying that what I will want you to self-reflect is you pretend to be anonymous & then you hold another individual accountable in public. That's conduct unbecoming. Again that's off-course your choice. But, I personally find it distasteful.
As you had or claim to have worked with us, we all have love for you in our hearts & do feel free to reach out in case you need any assistance.
Read this - https://www.startups.com/library/founder-stories/max-levchin you will realise it takes a hell lot of work, sweat & toil to build something great. Maybe this will get you a closure & someday you will appreciate what we offered. Again its not meant for everyone & thats perfectly ok. Finally I am really glad that you realised it soon & made the right choice.
Best
