Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your perspective and your continued contributions to the team. We’re glad to hear that you find the office environment comfortable and positive. At the same time, we understand your concerns regarding workload and compensation competitiveness, particularly as it relates to bonus eligibility and pay structure across roles. Ensuring that compensation and recognition programs are fair, transparent, and aligned with responsibilities is important, and feedback like yours helps inform those ongoing evaluations. Thank you again for sharing your experience. Constructive input from current employees is invaluable as we continue to evolve and improve. Sincerely, Extendicare Team

Pros

I enjoy working with some of the people I have met, and the salary is OK. The residents are mostly great to work with. At the facility level they do have policies and procedures, and they try hard to follow them. The regional staff members are nice and lend an ear (or a hand) when things are really tough at the facility. They are also very knowledgeable about their jobs and about how things work "the extendicare way".

Kontras

Poor attitudes, and most people talk to you like you're dirt. It is very hard not to walk by someone without receiving a death stare. There is little to no support from the administrators, because they are too busy dealing with childish problems among the staff. There are few managers who actually know how to manage, and that gets tricky when issues arise. The building is never clean no matter how hard the housekeeping staff works...which is pretty much not at all. Questions and concerns often fall on deaf ears and communication is a major hurdle for a lot of these individuals. Administrators and DON see fit to only hire people they know so if those people cause problems, it can be difficult to get them to actually reprimand them or handle the situation.
