Pros
They beat the drum a lot from the CORPORATE STANDPOINT on issues like diversity, LGBT+ , 'being a family' etc. Safety is very important to them. You will probably never get fired or laid off. There is a bonus for non-rep employees.
Kontras
The bonus really makes you get paid a fair amount so if you don’t get the bonus you are very unpaid for that year. No matter how hard you try unless you are one of the golden boys you will get the default performance rating and award. There's no incentive to hustle. I’ve been told I deserved a higher rating several times but they gave it to someone else because there was a quota. Having such a high bonus each year makes it hard to negotiate for other jobs because your base salary is so low and most other companies only look at base and don’t have even 20% the bonus you get at Exelon Only the chosen few get advancement. It doesn't matter about their skills it’s all about social standing and chest beating. Usually, they move on to a new position within 2 years and nothing actually improved but leadership thinks they did an amazing job. You end up cleaning the mess they made to get promoted. Even if you do get promoted you get like 2k more cash a year and they just tell you it’s a higher salary range now. Doubles your work. Ive been told to run programs but not spend money. I’ve been assigned jobs that aren’t relevant to my degree or skills to the detriment of my mental health so the company can save money. The safety rules these days impede parts of tasks I can no longer do. I get gaslit by other employees and I am not respected at the employee/team level as a diverse person. I feel erased. If you are queer good luck. I like work from home to distance myself from other people because it’s a better/safer environment but this company is very against work from home. Have to come in 3 days a week. I was forced into a computer upgrade when I had a new computer already and it was really a downgrade that couldn’t even run my engineering apps. My department had to turn around and buy me another laptop months later. I’m not given the tools or money to do what I’m asked to do. For years end empty promises of funding. Cant even travel to other service centers to solve engineering problems due to budget. Collaboration with other departments is horrible. Be prepared to be ignored for simple asks for 6-12 months if you have to work with another department. My engineering knowledge is asked for and then ignored. Crews lie about things to get my decisions reversed because its easier on them or they don’t like certain products (not based on actual performance). I’ve seen people hired through nepotism and promoted to the same level as me but they know absolutely nothing YEARS LATER about our jobs.
