Pros

The expectations of management are refreshingly simple. You're expected to work hard, embrace your projects, respect deadlines, and work professionally with others. Aside from that, the dress code is business casual (unless you're meeting with clients of course), you're not pressured to work oppressive hours, and you're given real opportunities to take ownership and grow your event portfolio. A work/life balance is encouraged and it's not uncommon to see team members laughing over lunch or enjoying happy hours together.

Kontras

Deadlines and outreach expectations are totally reasonable, but if you treat deadlines and processes as "guidelines" ExL may not be the best fit for you.

Pros

If you are right out of college or want to start your career in events, then fine, this is the place to do it. Flexible hours, convenient location for commuters and a pretty independent working environment. You'll learn alot and take ownership of your projects.

Kontras

Though the location is convenient for commuters, its also in an area filled with drug dealers and crack heads. The structure of company left me scratching my head often. Everyone works in their own way, there is no uniform process. Also, the events are cheaply done and I question the actual research that goes into each one. You almost feel like you are working for a "fake" company. Every month someone is quitting or getting fired, so serious on this. There is also ZERO office culture and the office itself needs some serious TLC, like does the company have money for basic up keep, decent supplies etc? Benefits are expensive. There is also a constant paranioa within production all the time, mostly due to the department head. He is too involved and has no consideration for anyone's timelines. He is very blunt, almost rude, and good luck complaining about him - it will go nowhere because senior management are all buddies.
