Pros

Most staff (lower level) are genuinely committed to helping individuals who have a learning disability.

Kontras

Bullying and intimidation from management. Money wasted by the bucket loads on extravagant non-essential items for CEO, Directors and Senior Management when it should be spent on our service users. Abhorrent blame culture and staff are not valued, respected or listened to.

Decent salary, working for a good cause, colleagues are friendly

charity is ran like a business, unrealistic targets, little/no support for Employees with health conditions/disabilities, high staff turnover

Holiday pay - can buy holidays Weekends off (when not put on call)

Kontras

Hours - work far too much more than expected with little to no thanks, end up doing up to 50 hours plus a week on a 39 hour contract. Workload - more & more added to your never ending workload with no end in sight or proper support on this, you are working like a machine & also covering shifts on a regular basis. On Call - expected to do far & above your contracted On Call, no back up or support is made available for you & the pay of £10 a day is nowhere near enough for the stress of this. Management Support - do not listen correctly & give empty promises of support & say they will action things but won’t. Pay - its far too little for what we are doing in this job.
