The first thing you need to understand about this review is that the industry itself is tough Will provide trainers with guidance to improve and advance unlike a lot of places I’ve worked at. A lot of talented managers who actually care. (Not saying they’re perfect) Will look into issues and attempt to solve them if you have them. I’ve seen a lot of payment plans for sales and trainers and while I’m sure there is more that can be done to escape the constant grind and add to the work/life balance it fair by the industry standards. Constantly training, offering training to improve skills for their sales team so that trainer no longer have to sell. Owner and leader ship tries to adapt to the market and times unlike a lot of other places I’ve worked at. The owner had personal come along way into improving himself and the style of leadership and I can say I have never seen an owner change their tune or try to improve the way they communicate. I have also rarely seen an owner apologize for mistakes made but this one did and I have to respect that.

It can be a massive grind especially in sales. People can and will burn out and while this is common in sales I don’t believe we do enough to recognize this. To be fair this may be a limitation within the industry and not specific to this company but I have seen (myself included) a lot of very talented trainers/ sales people ect fall behind not because of skill or talent but just loss of motivation and recognition. The disconnect between trainers and managers and sometimes gym staff; a lot of clubs I’ve seen will, at some point, struggle with a divide between the training staff (and their expectations) and the managers and I believe it causes a lot of issues that make the job harder. This is common in a lot of places but it truly hurt me to see when so many avoidable and dramatic instances could have easily been avoided if we weren’t also so focused on sales. If we had bad managers and trainers it wouldn’t have hurt as bad but we did and it sucked! The work life balance. In short/ conclusion; this company does and have short comings. The seemingly single minded focus on sales does get in the way at times but some of the best leaders I’ve worked with in my career, worked here. There isn’t anything that can’t be fixed I personally just felt like I couldn’t help fix the issues while I was there and I personally was a part of the problem sometimes either due to my own faults or limitations of the industry.
