There is rampant complacency in this office. Processes and procedures are antiquated and require review. There is a palpable sense and operational procedures that reward longevity over performance, which has led to several entrenched employees with no desire to evolve, change or grow. New ideas or novel approaches are met with resistance and are labelled as contemptuous. The stated approach from senior management is to maintain the association's "family-like" culture, which essentially amounts to unstated expectations outside of various role descriptions, ineffective/unmotivated employees who have entirely checked out, and single-source top-down management, which undercuts the ability of middle managers or team leaders to motivate, discipline or coach direct reports.
