Pros

Fun employee treats around the office, like happy hours, breakfast snacks, ice cream, etc.

Kontras

They do not care about entry-level employees. I worked there when I was an assistant account executive and an account executive, and I worked 12-hour days for almost two years. Even with all my hard work and dedication, my managers still treated me horribly. I will never forget when one of my female managers publicly yelled at me, multiple times, in front of others, for not doing something correctly. My managers never took the time to help me learn - they only got mad when I couldn't read their minds. Unfortunately, I had two horrible female managers for the majority of my time there, who constantly made me feel like an insignificant failure. I even brought the issue to HR at one point, but I left the HR office feeling unheard and unseen. As soon as another opportunity presented itself, I left. I still have PTSD when I walk/drive by the Aon Center. My starting salary was also $28,000, which is ridiculously low (even compared to my equal counterparts at Edelman, which I discovered later).

Pros

Edelman gives you real exposure to senior leaders, complex work, and smart people. You can learn a lot quickly, build strong relationships, and get close to how decisions are made. There are also good opportunities to take on meaningful projects if you are proactive and willing to speak up.

Kontras

The pace can be a lot, and the work can feel reactive at times. Priorities shift quickly and roles often expand beyond the original scope without always having clear boundaries, title growth, or compensation changes. Career growth is possible, but you often have to advocate for it yourself. Overall, Edelman can be a great place to grow if you are adaptable, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity. It works best when you have strong leaders, clear expectations, and support around workload and growth. That last part is impossible to control, so may the odds be in your favor.
