Pros
Where to begin. I was recently hired by ESS as a part time employee and just finished my orientation. So far, I have nothing but great things to say about the company. It may take a few weeks for ESS to contact you for an interview, but it's because the company wants to find the best fit for you so YOU can be successful and they can provide YOU with not only a schedule that works for both parties, but also a job that you will feel comfortable doing. Kim, the HR/Employment manager, contacted me a few weeks after I applied and I was given an interview. She was extremely pleasant and very easy to talk to. The interview did not feel like an interview at all, but rather a meet and greet with some questions about my job history, work ethic, and qualities I possess that set me apart from other applicants. It was truly to see if I was a good fit for the company and vice versa. Terry, the operations manager, took me for a small tour of the facility I would be responsible for cleaning within a week of the interview. Again, this was so I would know exactly what I was getting into and if I was comfortable completing the necessary tasks for the job. Just another way they showed me that they wanted to make sure it was not only a good fit for them, but also for me. During orientation (which lasted two days) I was introduced to the President of the company, Paul, which was really special. He truly is involved in his company as he wants to make sure that everyone is comfortable and feels welcome. He gave us his six core values of the company, which are all to benefit you, the employee, and his customers. We also were introduced to our managers that we would be directly working under and other members of HR and office staff. I am excited to start this job as I do not believe I have had a job opportunity with this much flexibility to allow me to care for my family and attend school. Not to mention the benefits! Opportunities for pay increase, job advancement, unpaid and paid vacation (even part time employees), and plenty of ways to earn extra cash (submitting a 3-10 minute safety video can earn you 1000$ cash if selected as a winner, submitting ideas to improve safety to earn money, etc etc etc). So far, everything has been about the employee and the satisfaction of their customers. From what I have seen, the company does everything they can to make sure you can earn a deserved income, and then some, while dealing with the everyday "curve balls" life can throw at you, something I have not seen anywhere else. They are willing to work with you in any and all situations, provided the right communication and work ethic is applied. If you are looking for a job that will respect you as a person, make you feel welcome, and give you the tools to be successful while earning money, I definitely recommend working for ESS. I am excited to start and hopefully can continue this great review after a few months of hard work.
Kontras
So far, I have no complaints or cons to mention. As stated, the company has done nothing but show me that they are looking out for my best interest.
