Pros

The management is nice, professional, relaxed and authentic. You should be fairly self-driven. They have a few .NET rock stars (MVPs) so they have some technical depth at the top end where many software companies do not. If you want to work somewhat flexible hours, management totally supports that. If you're getting your work done in a professional manner and you work well with clients, its a nice place to be. The compensation package is decent for a small company. Health, match of some retirement contributions. You may not make a top dollar salary, but other perks make you feel like you're valued in other ways. The company produces a magazine for software developers and does software consulting, so they really have a good niche that other companies do not. 1-2 times per year, the company brings the staff, including contractors, to a location for that personal bonding that makes professional connections work better.

Kontras

If you were brand new to software development/consulting, I don't think EPS would be a great fit for you. Their business is really geared towards seasoned staff. Some people start as a contractor; you earn what you can deliver in the first year or so, and if you're great at it, you might be offered a full-time opportunity. That's a challenge for people who want more structure.

Pros

Core Hours and ability to work from home. Relaxed athmosphere.

Kontras

The owners of the company (married couple) spend 85% of their time "working in remote locations" such as Hawaii, Europe, and others. They are rarely in the office and because of this do not provide real leadership. These two owners do not provide a rewarding environment to learn and grow with the organization; instead, they make all kinds of money and spend it on themselves. As an employee, you can expect horrible bonuses (I'm talking like $250-$500 per year), and never any salary increases. Benefits are "ok", but on par with most companies. The real kicker here is the growth opportunity: and by that, I mean that there is NO growth opportunity in this company. What you come in as is what you will leave as. Read the other reviews for this company, and AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
