Pros
* EMC looks good on your CV * The company is huge, lots of opportunity * Good company to gain experience, to go from a "B" to an "A" and then leave * The pay is ok * work life balance, lots of charity etc.
Kontras
**** the below applies to EMC2- EMEA Renewals only, and is a reflection of the last few years**** * All the experienced, highly skilled employees left or are leaving due to poor leadership and extreme micromanagement. * There is a large gap of knowledge and trust between local management up to director level and the employees. * Reporting and the process is more important then common sense. * Promotion is not based on skills, it's based on "are you a friend of?" * Management is only working to make a name for themselves instead of acting as leaders. This is visible from employee level, but seems to be well kept away from their own management. * Management reaches out to their teams to improve things, they make it a big thing, going forward, building teams, etc. etc. the reality is that in the end nothing really changes and that reaching out is purely for the show so they can present a nice story to their upper management. "Look what we have done, is this great or what!?" * Experienced employees reached out several times over the years but at one point they just left as their management is just not willing to listen. * There is simply no intention from management to actually improve, except when management can earn a gold star.
