• There is no support from management. Usually management leaves you to figure out things on your own. • You ask them a question, they say they don't have time or they just simply ignore you. • They come and go as they please. One manager says she started at 7am when in fact she was seen in the car park at 9.05am. Somehow also claims overtime for this. • If we have an issue, you explain to them what the issue is. Nothing gets done about it. Everything important gets brushed to the side. Somehow your personal issue becomes the talk of the spa. There is no confidentiality what so ever. • Holidays - you have to keep emailing to get a response. Or when the Rota is sent out, you see holidays have be accepted, but they just cannot be bothered to tell you. If holidays are not accepted, management won't tell you either. You just have to wait till the Rota is out. • Management will make a rule for us all, but then 3 days later you see themselves ignoring the rules. • 95% of the time, both managers talk about eachother behind eachother's back. They talk to the staff about each other. • You get spoken to as if you are a slave. There is no sign of respect. • Somehow all therapists are all against each other. When you tell management the issue they automatically take sides and don’t take it seriously when they are serious disputes that shouldn’t be taking place in a workplace. • Some therapists are not even QUALIFIED massage therapist • Training is never up to date • We are constantly booked the same treatments I.e. back massage all day which becomes very repetitive and tiring which results in therapists not being able to give 100% effort. • There is no shift pattern, we are working a physical job and two days off together twice in 4 weeks is not enough to recover and have a social life. Something needs to be put in place. For example 4 on 2 off rolling like many other companies within the airport • We are expected to clean the spa, put chair massages on, do treatments, put emails on the system when there is no time to do everything. We are worn out • Cleansiness in the spa is disgusting. Passengers and therapist have witnessed cockroaches and mice in the spa previously. Sink and prep area always has a foul waste smell, microwave smells, cupboards are dirty, food is left over night in the spa and management is aware of this. There is nowhere to eat or have our breaks properly we need our own space. • Elemis needs to have their own desk as we are constantly confused with the shower staff and this does not look professional. • We are given tasks where we get incentives but when asking management what the reward will be she says “ nothing, you get nothing” with a smirk on her face. I feel like we do everything we can as staff to help them and the company out for example changing our shifts last minute on a weekly basis and doing overtime. This is never appreciated or returned. • Management have no compassion towards their therapists, everything we do is doubted and frowned upon. • Management has asked therapist if they could check somebody’s Instagram account to see if they were out the night before as she does not believe they are sick. • Management have their favourites and everybody gets treated differently according to whether they like you or not. • It is a very hostile environment to work in, therapists constantly complain about these things to each other and want to leave their job. I do not know of any staff member who has said they are happy working for Elemis and enjoy their job here. • Many therapists compare working here to a prison. • When they interviews, they are so desperate they hire everyone on the spot. They never consider a second interview. Managment happily give away out dated products. If staff don't want it, management give this to housekeeping
