Pros
Fantastic hotels, some team members are engaging and fun.
Kontras
Unrealistic expectations, with some company policies at direct odds with sales targets. Some team members are only looking out for themselves, with no support or guidance for new team members. Very territorial senior sales members, with limited replies to legitimate emails. Requests for sales data takes too long to even be acknowledged, let alone acted upon, negatively impacting on the sales process. Loss of clients resulted from delays in correspondence. My line manager was uncaring when I commented on an emotional personal problem I was experiencing, with the same conversation ending in no acknowledgement for support and doubling down on sales targets. When other team members had performance concerns, my line manager discplined me for being responsible (but not responsible for other team members performance), and criticised me for not working after hours to address the problem that I had no knowledge of. This is so my line manager did not need to work after-hours and have her own free time planning her wedding. I felt my line manager was deliberately trying to pile unrealistic targets on me so as to remove me from my position, as she felt threatened by my career ambitions. My line manager rediculed the companies I used to work for, implying my approach to work within those organisations are not satisfactory to working at Doyle Collection, however we shared extremely similar career paths. The back-of-house facilities are abysmal. The sales team have access to dry cleaning facilities, my clothing got lost. The kitchen facilities are terrible - we have limited lunch break times. Staff lunches are limited, with very small catering options. This resulted in waiting too long and the lunch break running out of time. On multiple occasions the only lunch options was some sad looking lettuce and tomatoes. Quite often, I ended up with just plain white rice and olive oil for lunch. Terrible. I lost alot of sleep, and spent too much of my evenings and weekends on work related matters to try and meet sales targets. All for nothing. I was relieved when I left the company. Never have I felt such relief in a work setting.
